Senior Analyst/Manager, Finance

Minerva University is looking for an experienced special projects manager to join our team.

ROLE

The Senior Analyst/Manager, Finance reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer and supports the University’s financial and strategic goals. This key hire has the opportunity to shape the financial analytics function at the institution while working closely with senior management on key strategic initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conducts research and develops financial models and analysis to support strategic initiatives and develop actionable recommendations; creates dashboards and other user interfaces
  • Manages expense and revenue models that align with University’s development of strategic plans, annual operating budget, monthly projections, and financial reports
  • Works with the University’s academic teams and administration to plan, develop, and test financial tools to improve scenario planning and analysis
  • Develops cost-measurement methods for instructional and institutional business expenditures
  • Effectively communications analyses and recommendations to leadership through both oral presentation and written documents
  • Supports the University’s budget operations as necessary including journal entries, reforecasts and budget to variance analysis
  • Other ad hoc analyses as necessary

EXPERIENCE & EXPERTISE

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics or related field; CPA or similar certification a plus
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office with advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, at minimum includes Pivot tables, VLOOKUPS and similar formulas
  • Experience with financial systems and data query tools
  • Experience integrating strategic planning and financial planning
  • Experience implementing user interfaces such as dashboards a plus
  • Proven ability to explain complex financial information and make presentations to senior leaders
  • Knowledge of relevant software applications including strong Excel and Powerpoint skills
  • Demonstrated ability to roll-up sleeves and work with team members
  • Ability to work in a globally diverse environment across different time zone
  • Understanding of or willingness to learn regulatory environment and become expert on higher education best practices and key financial drivers

    Compensation
    $75,000-$100,000 per year
    The position is exempt and comes with benefits if 75% FTE or above.
    Location is flexible; travel may be required
