In 2021, Minerva University obtained independent accreditation from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges/Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC). Prior to that, since its founding in 2013, Minerva was accredited by WSCUC through its partnership with Keck Graduate Institute, and the institution was named Minerva Schools at KGI. Minerva graduated its first masters students in 2017 and its first undergraduate students in 2019. It currently has five undergraduate colleges and one graduate program. Its students and alums are from 100 countries. The current student population is ~650 with plans to grow to several thousand over the next decade.

ROLE

This newly created role of Senior Analyst/Manager, Data & Analytics reports directly to Minerva’s Chief Operating Officer and will have the opportunity to work on a breadth of analyses and projects across diverse teams including marketing and enrollment management, admissions, real estate planning, business development, and strategy. Data collection, analysis, and presentation of trends and findings will be a core component of this role.

Candidates who will thrive in this role love numbers and Excel. They are quick learners but take the time to understand the nuances of each department and operating challenges. They are willing to roll up their sleeves and pull data from numerous operating systems themselves while also being able to synthesize data and create a visually appealing Powerpoint presentation with findings. Prior higher education experience is not required, though an appetite for learning certainly is.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conducts research and develops models and analysis to support strategic initiatives and develop actionable recommendations; creates dashboards and other user interfaces
  • Works with the University’s academic teams and administration to plan, develop, and test financial tools to improve scenario planning and analysis
  • Develops cost-measurement methods for instructional and institutional business expenditures
  • Effectively communicates analyses and recommendations through oral presentation, memos, and Powerpoint decks
  • Supports the University’s budget operations as necessary including journal entries, reforecasts and budget to variance analysis
  • Other ad hoc analyses as necessary
  • EXPERIENCE & EXPERTISE
    • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, computer science, information systems, or related field
    • 1-2 years of consulting, corporate finance, or analytical marketing experience highly desired
    • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, including Pivot tables and VLOOKUPS required
    • Experience with financial systems, data query, and data visualization tools desired
    • Ability to work in a globally diverse environment across different time zones
    • Understanding of or willingness to learn regulatory environment and become expert on higher education best practices and key operational drivers

    Compensation
    $70,000-$90,000 per year
    The position is exempt and comes with benefits if 75% FTE or above.
    Location is flexible; travel may be required
